March 2025 – Nysmith Hosts State VEX Robotics Competition

This past weekend, Nysmith had the honor of hosting the state finals for the VEX Robotics competition, where nine of our teams showcased their innovation, engineering skills, and teamwork in a highly competitive event. Our teams—The Powerpuff Girls, Dogebots, Harry Botter, Royal Roboteers, Galaxy Phoenix, Firebots, Geometrix, Tech Titans, and The Robotic Neurons—delivered outstanding performances, with several earning top awards.

• Ranked #1 in Qualification Matches (Elementary School Division)

🏆 Galaxy Phoenix (Mahina C., Audrey P., Mayling R., and Mia F.)

• Excellence Award winner
• Robotic Skills Championship winner
• 3rd Place in Teamwork Championship (Elementary School Division)
• Advancing to the World Championships in Dallas this May

🏆 Firebots (Julius N., Jiana K., and Adriana A.)

• 2nd Place finish in their first year competing in the tournament

Nysmith’s VEX Robotics Legacy Continues

A total of six Nysmith teams—Firebots, Galaxy Phoenix, Geometrics, Royal Roboteers, Tech Neurons, and Tech Titans—advanced to the final rounds at the State Championships. Most notably, three of our teams—Galaxy Phoenix, Tech Titans, and Harry Botter—have earned a spot at the World Championships in Dallas this May!

We are incredibly proud of all our VEX Robotics teams for their hard work, creativity, and perseverance. Congratulations to all participants, and best of luck to our teams heading to Dallas!
